Born and raised in Prince George, Dr. Ben Bauman spent his childhood exploring the backwoods of Northern BC. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. He launched his career in Edmonton before returning to Prince George to practice for four years, after which he expanded his experience by working as a locum veterinarian across Northern BC. This wide-ranging experience in different clinics and communities has shaped his thoughtful and adaptable approach to veterinary medicine.

Dr. Bauman is known for his practical, compassionate care. He works closely with clients to come up with treatment plans that are both effective and realistic, offering guidance without pressure. He brings a grounded, respectful energy to every case, making clients feel supported in whatever path they choose for their pet.

Around the clinic, Ben is approachable, easy to joke around with, and always tuned in to the people around him. He makes a point to greet every team member at the start of the day, checks in throughout, and never leaves without saying goodbye. His calm and friendly presence helps keep the clinic feeling steady and supportive, no matter how busy the day gets.

Dr. Bauman is co-owner of Birchwood Veterinary Clinic with his wife, Mel, and is committed to building a practice that values kindness, communication, and good old-fashioned teamwork.
