We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our small, privately-owned veterinary clinic in Prince George, BC.
We work with domestic and exotic animals, so our veterinary technicians need to be prepared for anything. That includes everything from small animal anesthesia, diagnostic quality radiographs, and in-house diagnostics to Fear Free handling of the animals, in-clinic hospitalization and nursing, and administering prescribed medications.
This is a Monday - Friday, full-time position, but animal injuries and illnesses don’t always happen on our schedule. We try to accommodate that while keeping your work-life balance in mind, so we are looking for someone who can occasionally be available for on-call shifts until 10 PM, but no later.
We welcome new graduates ! Our new technicians should have a Veterinary Technician Diploma from an accredited college and be in good standing with their provincial affiliated technician organization. We are also open to applicants from international non- accredited veterinary schools.
We offer a strong family-oriented work team with years of varied field experience and a program for onboarding new staff where we focus on communication, radiology, anesthesia, and general in-clinic technician duties.

Duties
- Confident in small animal anesthesia
- Able to perform diagnostic quality radiographs (including dental radiographs)
- Proper Fear Free handling and restraint during examinations
- Perform in house diagnostics including but not limited to: IDEXX in-house laboratory services, manual blood smears, sample preparations, etc.
- In-clinic hospitalization and nursing care
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by attending doctor
- Communicate and collaborate efficiently with clients and colleagues
- Availability for occasional on call shifts until 10pm only

Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician
- Veterinary Technician Diploma (with pending completion of VTNE)
- BCVTA member in good standing
- New grads welcome!
- Fear Free and Recover CPR Certifications will be considered an asset
