Josh
Animal AssistantJosh has always been curious about healthcare, which led him to explore veterinary medicine as a way to combine his love of science with hands-on care. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UNBC and is using his time at Birchwood to gain experience and confirm that veterinary medicine is definitely the path for him, and we’re happy to report we didn’t scare him off!
Josh brings a practical, can-do attitude to every task at the clinic, always willing to help wherever he’s needed and eager to learn from each experience. As a former roofer, he is also our go-to person whenever a ladder is involved, a handy skill that comes in surprisingly often.
Outside of work, Josh enjoys volleyball, video games, archery, and piano. He also plays a sport most people haven’t heard of called underwater hockey and once helped his team place seventh in Canada—yes, it’s a real thing and yes, it’s as weird and fun as it sounds.
At home, Josh shares his life with Casey, a golden retriever who insists on at least ten belly rubs a day, and Jessie, a sun-loving cat with a fondness for cardboard boxes. With his curiosity, dedication, and lighthearted humor, Josh brings energy and personality to Birchwood, making both clients and patients feel welcome.
