Dr. Seongtae Kim

Dr. Seongtae Kim is a dedicated veterinarian with over 10 years of experience in companion animal health care. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Chonnam National University in Korea and is a licensed veterinarian in both Korea and Canada.

Dr. Kim’s background blends hands-on clinical practice with academic teaching. Prior to joining Birchwood Veterinary Clinic, he directed Daul Companion Animal Clinic in Seoul, where he oversaw daily operations and focused on surgery and veterinary dentistry. His expertise in dental care also led him to teach small animal dentistry at several institutions, mentoring the next generation of veterinarians.

Committed to continuous learning and comprehensive patient care, Dr. Kim holds a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) designation from Chi University. He enjoys integrating acupuncture and other complementary therapies into conventional veterinary medicine to support patient comfort and recovery.

His dedication to animal well-being is further reflected in his service as Chief Veterinary Officer in the Republic of Korea Navy, where he managed the health and medical care of military working dogs.

Now based in Prince George with his family, Dr. Kim enjoys becoming involved in the local community and embracing life in the North. He looks forward to building lasting relationships with clients and their pets while providing thoughtful, high-quality care.
