Dr. Karol

Veterinarian

Dr. Karol graduated with honours from FMVZ-UNAM in 2011 and has spent the last 14 years practicing veterinary medicine and owning her own clinic in Mexico. Her experience spans preventative medicine, surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, analgesia, environmental management, and exotic animal care. She also completed a Diploma in Diagnostic Medicine for Captive Wildlife in 2020 and is Fear Free Certified.

Dr. Karol has a special passion for exotic mammal medicine, feline medicine, anesthesia, pain management, and surgery. She has advanced experience with ultrasound diagnostics, including AFAST and TFAST training with Dr. Lisciandro. Her personal experience with a painful abdominal torsion surgery herself sparked an even deeper appreciation for effective analgesia and compassionate patient care.

Outside of work, much of her time is spent with her family, but she also loves hiking, baking, trying new recipes, scrapbooking, and exploring museums and parks. At home, she is supervised closely by Circe, her tortie cat, whose favourite hobbies include chasing shadows, demanding Churu treats, and using humans as furniture.

When asked what superpower she would choose, Dr. Karol says omnilingualism — especially if it meant being able to communicate with animals too. Until then, she’s happy speaking fluent “cat owner” and “exotic pet enthusiast.”
