Cassaundra started her journey in veterinary medicine fueled by a passion for animal welfare, working with the BC SPCA as a kennel attendant and certified dog assessor. Inspired to take her commitment even further, she went on to earn her diploma in Animal Health Technology from Thompson Rivers University and hasn’t looked back since!

In the clinic, Cassaundra’s favourite part of the job (aside from all the animal snuggles) is working with anesthesia and drawing blood samples. She’s got a sharp eye, a steady hand, and a calming presence that patients and coworkers alike appreciate. Her long-term goal? To provide compassionate care to every patient like they’re her own, and one day mentor aspiring techs entering the field.

Cassaundra brings strength, a happy smile, and a grounded sense of empathy to the Birchwood team. Outside of work, she’s usually off-grid with her husband, soaking in the outdoors through mountain biking, kayaking, camping, or whatever the season has to offer!
